This is a high-quality lead crystal large wine glass from the ‘Val d’Isere’ suite by J. G. Durand of France.
The capacious, rounded bowl is tapered in slightly at the rim. The bowl narrows as it approaches the base and merges with the solid, straight stem. The latter merges with the plain, flat foot; it is unmarked.
The bowl is decorated with three large leaves arranged around the base of the bowl. These have been cut and etched to give a matte intaglio finish.
It has a height of approximately 21.9cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.0cm and across the foot of about 7.4cm.
The glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 325ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 240g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
