This is a beautifully proportioned Georgian wine glass dating to the mid-18th century.
The wine glass has a classic flared bell-shaped bowl with a thick rounded base. Within the base is a flattened enclosed air bubble. It sits on a broad cylindrical stem which merges with the wide, conical foot. The latter is folded at the edge and has a central rough pontil on the underside.
It has a height of approximately 13.9cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.0cm and across the foot of about 8.0cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 60ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 220g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd striation and a small fleck of frit or bubble enclosed within the glass.
