This is a nice example of a flower vase from the ‘Lotus’ range produced by Dartington Crystal, dating to the early 2000s.
The vase is of simple form, with a flattened, ground rim which widens out to form an elongated body. This narrows again as it approaches the thickened base. The glass is decorated with a vertically ribbed effect known as ‘Optic’.
The base is plain and marked at the edge with ‘© DARTINGTON’.
In addition, it bears the original black and white sticker, which reads ‘DARTINGTON CRYSTAL’.
This vase can be seen in the 2006 Dartington catalogue and has the pattern number VA2110/O. It is referred to as the ‘Lotus Tall Vase’.
It has a height of approximately 18.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 4.0cm and across the base of about 3.9cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 340g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
