Dartington Crystal ‘Large’ FT141 Vase or Candleholder

This is a nice example of a lead crystal candleholder or vase, designed by Frank Thrower for Dartington Crystal.

The vase is of simple yet elegant form, with a cylindrical mid-section widening to form a galleried rim. The foot is plain and unmarked.

It has a height of approximately 19.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.7cm and across the foot of about 6.5cm. This is the middle-sized product from the range and is (confusingly!) referred to as ‘Large’ in the catalogue.

It has an unwrapped weight of 310g.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some puckering at the rim where the glass was cut. This is a manufacturing artefact and is only visible on close inspection.
