This is a nice example of a short glass candlestick, probably British in origin and dating to the 1970s.
The candlestick has a wide everted rim that tapers in to form a waisted body. This sits on a thickened discoid portion that forms the base of the holder. This merges imperceptibly with the long straight stem. The foot is broad and plain with the remains of a central tool mark.
This piece is reminiscent of designs by Ronald Stennett-Willson for Wedgwood Glass and Frank Thrower for Dartington Glass.
It has a height of approximately 10.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.0cm and across the foot of about 7.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 70g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
