Bergdala Glasbruk Handled Lead Crystal Cheese Plate with Grass Motif

This is a high-quality moulded lead crystal handled cheese plate produced by Bergdala Glasbruk of Hovmantorp, Sweden.

The plate is round but not entirely circular in shape. The underside is moulded with a textured finish and a central sprig of stylised grasses.

On the upper surface is a separately applied loop of hollow glass, which forms the handle.

Although unmarked, I was fortunate enough to find a plate online with the same motif that retained the original Bergdala sticker, which is where this attribution comes from.

The plate has a diameter across the rim of 24.0cm.

It has an unwrapped weight of 820g.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some superficial scratches to the upper surface commensurate with use. There is also a mark within the hollow portion of the handle, which is a manufacturing artefact (see pictures).
