This is a nice example of a utilitarian glass, probably British in origin and dating to around 1870.
The elongated bowl tapers in slightly at the rim and then again at the base. The latter is thickened and merges imperceptibly with the tapering stem. There is a small discoid collar at the junction of the stem and the plain, flat foot. The latter has the remains of a central Y shaped tool mark.
It has a height of approximately 11.8cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 5.2cm and across the foot of about 6.6cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few striations and enclosed bubbles in the bowl and foot. These are manufacturing artefacts and do not detract from the piece in any way.
