This is a charming example of a late 18th-century lead crystal drinking glass, dating to around 1770.
The cup-shaped bowl is moulded in its lower two-thirds with a vertical ribbed design. The bowl merges with the plain stem. There is a bulbous attachment at the junction of the stem and the foot. The foot has a folded edge and a central rough pontil; the foot is not entirely circular.
It has a height of approximately 7.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 4.9cm and across the foot of about 5.6cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 50ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 80g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some striations in the glass, which are manufacturing artefacts. There are also some scratches to the bowl commensurate with age and use.
