Andrew Hague Askrigg Pottery Yorkshire Hand Decorated Ceramic Cream Jug
For a full product description, see below.
This is a highly attractive example of a small jug produced by Andrew Hague of Askrigg Pottery in North Yorkshire.
The jug has been hand thrown, probably in either stoneware or high-fired earthenware. The body of the jug is globular. There is a short, strap shaped handle extending from the rim to about the widest part of the body. The whole is glazed with a creamy grey mottled colour, to within about 1.0cm of the base. To this is added a hand painted abstract design in shades of blue and green.
Below the attachment of the handle, on the side of the unglazed base, there is the impressed monogram consisting of the letter ‘A’ and ‘P’ conjoined. This is for Askrigg Pottery. The underneath of the base has a combed appearance.
It has a height of approximately 11.0cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
