This is a highly collectible character jug depicting ‘Aramis’, designed by Max Henk in 1955 for Royal Doulton.
Aramis is wearing a black hat with a white feather and a brown tunic. The handle is formed by his sword.
The base is marked with the Royal Doulton lion and crown logo, and the words ‘MADE IN ENGLAND ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND ARAMIS ‘ONE OF THE THREE MUSKETEERS’ D. 6441 COPR. 1955 DOULTON & CO. LTD’. In addition, it is marked with several registered numbers.
It has a maximum height of approximately 18.5cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 880g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some minor crazing to the glaze.
