This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal sherry glasses from the ‘Georgian’ suite produced by Royal Doulton Crystal.
The elongated bowl tapers in as it approaches the thickened base. It is cut with a band of seven large crosses. Each cross is surmounted by a three-pointed fan cut, and the diamond-shaped panels formed between adjacent crosses contain a smaller cross-cut. Above the base is a ring of seven concave oval cuts.
The bowl sits on a short stem with a central flattened ball knop. This merges with the plain, flat foot that is marked in the centre with a crown logo and the words ‘ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 11.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.8cm and across the foot of about 5.2cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 100ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 270g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
