This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal 9oz whisky tumblers or ‘rummers’ from the ‘Georgian’ suite produced by Webb Corbett for Royal Doulton Crystal.
Each tumbler is cylindrical in shape and cut with a band of eight large crosses. Each cross is surmounted by a three-pointed fan cut, and the diamond-shaped panels formed between adjacent crosses contain a smaller cross-cut.
Above the base is a ring of eight concave oval cuts. The thickened base is star cut and marked at the edge with a crown logo and the words ‘ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND’.
Each glass bears the original silver and light blue label, which reads ‘ROYAL DOULTON CRYSTAL BY WEBB CORBETT’. In addition, they come with the original wrapping and in the original box.
Each glass has a height of approximately 8.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.9cm and across the base of about 7.3cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 275ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 560g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, as they have probably never been used.
