This is a classic example of a candlestick from the ‘Arthur’ range produced by Wedgwood Crystal in the 1980s.
The bowl is cylindrical with an everted rim. It sits on an elongated cylindrical stem, which is hollow, and a plain, discoid foot. The latter is unmarked but bears the original plastic label, which reads ‘WEDGWOOD LEAD CRYSTAL ENGLAND’.
This candlestick has the pattern number W29/2, the medium size of the three produced for this range. The glass is in the popular ‘Midnight’ colourway.
It has a height of approximately 18.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.7cm and across the foot of about 8.6cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 160g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
