This charming vase is from the ‘Moselle’ range and was in production from the 1960s to 1982.
The piece is in the form of a curly-haired cherub, kneeling in front of a trumpet-shaped shell. The whole is supported on an oval base, with a moulded laurel leaf design.
The base is hollowed out and has a circular unglazed rim, which shows the underlying ceramic body to be white. Within this are the impressed words ‘SYLVAC MADE IN ENGLAND’ and the number ‘2683’, although these are barely discernible as the white glaze is rather thick.
It has a maximum height of approximately 11.6cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 380g.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although the glaze is crazed.
