This is a set of four high-quality cut lead crystal pan wine glasses, probably British and dating to the latter quarter of the 19th century.
The pan-shaped bowl is cut with a ‘hobnail’ design in three rows. The base of the bowl is cut with six ‘petals’, which extend down onto the straight stem as facets. The edge of each petal and facet is cut with very fine wedge cuts, giving a notched appearance. The foot is star-cut and unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 12.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.5cm and across the foot of about 6.6cm. There may be minor discrepancies in dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 130ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 470g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
