This is a set of four high-quality cut and moulded lead crystal brandy glasses from the ‘Ness’ suite produced by Edinburgh Crystal.
The capacious balloon-shaped bowl is cut with a band of six large crosses, each formed from two pairs of parallel lines. The centre of each cross is surmounted by a three-pointed fan cut. Within the diamond-shaped panel formed between adjacent crosses is a vertical star cut.
The stem is waisted and moulded with six facets which continue down onto the foot as petals. The underside of the foot is marked at the edge with the words ‘EDINBURGH CRYSTAL’.
In addition, the glasses come in their original purple satin-lined box.
Each glass has a height of approximately 11.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.6cm and across the foot of about 6.7cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 280ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 1250g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
