This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal pan champagne glasses from the ‘Deep Diamond’ suite by Thomas Webb.
The pattern consists of a central circumferential wedge cut bordered above and below by a ring of crosses and a further circumferential wedge cut. These bands are intersected with vertical needle cuts that extend downwards from about one-third of the way from the rim. These needle cuts form fourteen ‘panels’, the spaces between which are filled with a single vertical ovoid cut.
The stem and foot are plain; the latter is marked in the centre with the word ‘WEBB’. This mark was in use from 1906 to 1935.
Each glass has a height of approximately 11.0cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 8.5cm and at the base of about 6.6cm, although there may be minor discrepancies in dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 145ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 210g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
