This is a pair of high-quality, lead crystal wine or water goblets from the ‘Cascade’ suite by Stuart Crystal.
The capacious, rounded bowl tapers in as it merges with the solid stem. The bowl is cut with three sprigs of stylised fuchsias. The leaves and stems are cut and polished, whereas the flower heads are in matte intaglio.
The base of the bowl is cut with six petals, which extend down onto the stem as facets. The broad, discoid foot is plain and marked towards the edge with the words ‘STUART CRYSTAL’.
The Stuart Crystal catalogue describes these glasses as ‘Goblets’, with a pattern number 30805/012. They are the largest size of wine glass available in the range.
Each glass has a height of approximately 21.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of 8.0cm and across the foot of about 8.5cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of about 325ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 880g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
