This is an interesting pair of coffee cups and saucers in a classic glaze finish produced by Prinknash Pottery.
Each cup has a tulip-shaped body, tapering in towards the rim. It has a strap-like handle and sits on a discoid base. The latter is moulded in relief in the centre with the words ‘PRINKNASH ENGLAND’.
Each saucer has a slightly everted edge and a central depressed cup ring. The underside is unmarked.
Both the cup and the saucer are decorated on the interior and exterior with a ‘gunmetal’ grey glaze, which has a soft sheen.
Each cup has a height of approximately 8.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.1cm and across the base of about 4.6cm. Each saucer has a diameter of approximately 12.2cm.
The cups each have a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 200ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 550g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
