This is a striking pair of champagne glasses produced under the brand Herregårdstinn by Astri Holthe of Norway.
The upper portion is machine-made from plain, non-lead glass. This sits on a pewter stem, which is cast with a ringed, tapering upper portion surmounting a collar. The elongated cylindrical portion flares out as it approaches another collar at the junction with the tapering foot.
The foot is stamped in the centre with the words ‘A. HOLTHE TINN PEWTER 93.7%’. At the edge of the foot is a small mark showing a stylised house and trees, which is the logo for Herregårdstinn.
The glasses come with a pair of oval-shaped pewter discs, which I believe are for engraving or personalising.
The glasses also come in their original green satin-lined box, which bears the Herregårdstinn name and logo on the front. The sticker on the back shows that they were originally sold by the Norwegian watchmaker F. Lohne.
Each glass has a height of approximately 20.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.2cm and across the foot of about 7.5cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 180ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 430g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some minor wear to the edges of the box.
