This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal large wine glasses from the ‘Glenshee’ suite produced by Edinburgh Crystal.
The bucket-shaped bowl is cut with ten pairs of crosses, one surmounting the other. The uppermost cross contains a three-pointed fan cut. Between adjacent pairs of crosses is a vertical wedge cut. The base of the bowl is thickened and sits on a broad collar, before merging with the baluster-shaped stem. The foot is star cut and marked at the edge with the words ‘EDINBURGH CRYSTAL’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 14.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.7cm and across the foot of about 6.8cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 175ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of approximately 490g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
