This is a handsome and unusual example of a piece of early Neil Wilkin studio glass, probably dating to his time in Bath and Frome during the 1980s and 1990s.
The bowl is broad and made from semi-opaque jade green glass. It has an applied dark red rim. It sits on a thick, pedestal-like flint glass foot. This has a central broken pontil and is unmarked.
It has a height of 8.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of 21.7cm and across the foot of about 7.5cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 760g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some scratches to the underside of the foot and interior of the bowl commensurate with use. There are also some streaky inclusions in the glass, as well as an unburst bubble in the base.
