This is a stunning example of a high-quality wine glass from the 3/62 Collection produced by Nason Moretti of Murano.
The glass has a capacious bowl made from cranberry-coloured glass. This is referred to in their catalogue as ‘ruby red’ but it has the more classic pinkish tone of 19th century glass. There is a globular attachment at the junction of the bowl and stem. Below this, it is waisted, then widens out to form a flattened discoid knop. The stem then widens out to form an elegant, hollow, conical foot. This is plain and unmarked.
This suite has been in production for decades so it is advised that you compare the size of this glass to your own if you are looking to replace or add to an existing set.
The glass has a height of 13.6cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.1cm and across the foot of about 7.0cm. The height is marginally shorter than the current run of white wine glasses, so they may have changed this slightly over the years. The current production of this Nason Moretti suite can be viewed here.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 205ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 110g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
