This is a nice example of a lead crystal candleholder, designed by Frank Thrower in 1983 for Dartington Glass.
The piece has a deep, galleried rim, which narrows to form a short neck. Below this is a large, flattened globular portion, which narrows to form the elongated stem. The upper portion of this is hollow, and the lower portion is solid. It sits on a thickened, discoid foot. This is plain and unmarked.
The piece bears the remains of the original gold Dartington sticker, which is indicative of ‘first’ quality.
It has a height of approximately 18.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.7cm and across the foot of about 9.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 420g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
