This is a high-quality lead crystal ice bucket from the ‘Art Deco’ range, designed in 1974 by Frank Thrower for Dartington Glass.
The bucket is broadly cylindrical in form with a series of moulded raised rings on the exterior. The base is thickened and wider than the remainder of the ice bucket. There is a chrome-plated carrying handle, which can be folded flat. The base is plain and unmarked.
The piece bears the remains of the gold Dartington label, which was indicative of ‘first’ quality.
It has a height (to the rim) of approximately 11.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of 11.9cm and across the base of about 13.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 1000g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
