This is a good quality lead crystal liqueur glass produced for use in the royal household of King George VI.
The glass has a plain U-shaped bowl, merging with the cylindrical stem and plain, flat foot. The latter is unmarked. The bowl is decorated on one side with ‘G VI R’ surmounted by a stylised crown motif.
Glasses like this would have been used in the Royal household and other properties such as yachts.
It has a height of approximately 7.6cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 4.0cm and across the foot of about 4.5cm, although this is not entirely circular.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 34ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 20g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although as previously mentioned the foot is not circular. The photograph demonstrates that it is misshapen; this is a manufacturing artefact but this flaw is reflected in the price.
