Old Tupton Ware Ceramic Apple Sauce Pot with Spoon in Original Box

This is a beautiful example of a handmade ceramic apple sauce pot from ‘The Preserves Collection’ produced by Old Tupton Ware.

The pot is cylindrical and glazed in a pale yellow that is slightly darker toward the base. The exterior is tube-lined and hand-painted with a stylised green apple motif.

The base is marked in the centre in blue with the words ‘OLD TUPTON WARE THE PRESERVES COLLECTION APPLE SAUCE’ surrounding a crown logo. In addition, there is the original gold sticker which reads ‘HAND PAINTED OLD TUPTON WARE +44 (0) 1691 831196’.

There is a ridge on the interior of the body for the lid to sit on. The lid is domed, with a central tapering knop. It is glazed in green on the upper surface. There is a semi-circular notch cut out of the rim for placement of the spoon.

The ceramic spoon is also glazed in pale yellow and has a small hole at the end of the handle.

The sauce pot comes with the original blue satin-lined display box.

The apple sauce pot has a maximum height (including the lid) of 11.4cm and a diameter across the rim of about 7.0cm. The spoon has a length of 11.0cm.

It has an unwrapped weight (excluding the box) of 220g.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
