This is a highly attractive and unusual limited edition oversized goblet by Bengt Edenfalk for the ‘Ateljé’ range for Kosta Boda.
The goblet has a capacious bowl and a thickened rim. There is an uneven band of white at the rim; below this, it is made from pale mauve glass with stripes in pink, purple, and amber. These lines are slightly wavy due to how the bowl was produced.
There is a thick discoid collar at the junction of the bowl and the stem. The latter is of solid form with a thick, white, cylindrical core. This merges with the plain foot, which is slightly domed in the centre. There is a large polished pontil in the centre, and it is hand engraved around the rim with the words ‘KOSTA ATELJÉ B. EDENFALK R-65’.
It has a height of approximately 23.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 11.8cm and across the foot of about 9.7cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 850ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 670g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
