This is an attractive and unusual vase in Art Deco style, produced by Sylvac in the mid-20th century.
The vase is fan-shaped and glazed in black. The white floral design is present on both sides of the vase. It stands on a small tapering plinth.
The base is moulded with the numbers ‘546’ and ‘8’. To the side of this is a circular printed mark in gold, which reads ‘SYLVAC MADE IN ENGLAND’. This mark was in use from the 1940s to 1950s.
It has a height of approximately 13.8cm, with a maximum length across the rim of 26.4cm and a maximum depth at the rim of 9.8cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 550g.
It is in good condition, with some minor crazing to the glaze and a small flake out of the rim (see pictures). This wear is reflected in the price.
