This is a charming example of a bone china baby plate and feeding spoon from the ‘Bunnykins’ range produced by Royal Doulton and dating to the late 1980s.
The feeding plate has a flattened rim, a cylindrical upper portion and tapers in at the base.
It is glazed in a pale cream-yellow shade, over which has been transfer-printed a band of leaping bunnies around the rim. In the centre is an image depicting a mother bunny and her three babies, two of whom are having a bath in front of an open fire.
The underside is marked in the centre with the Royal Doulton logo being carried by a group of rabbits. Below this are the words ‘ENGLISH FINE BONE CHINA “BUNNYKINS” ® © 1988 ROYAL DOULTON’.
The spoon is made from a silver-coloured metal with a handle shaped like a rabbit sitting on a hobby horse. It is marked on the reverse with the words ‘ROYAL DOULTON BUNNYKINS ARTHUR PRICE OF ENGLAND’.
In addition, the spoon and plate come in their original box, although this is worn around the edges and has some marks on the back.
The plate has a height of approximately 4.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 16.2cm and across the base of about 11.8cm. The spoon has a length of 15.0cm.
The set has an unwrapped weight of 550g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although as previously mentioned the box is worn.
