This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal small wine glasses from the ‘Westminster’ suite produced by Royal Doulton Crystal.
The rounded bowl is cut with six large crosses, the upper and lower limbs of which come into close approximation. Within the diamond-shaped panel formed between adjacent crosses is a further cross with elongated lower limbs which bisect the limbs of the larger crosses, creating a smaller lattice and a diamond-shaped panel below the centre of each large cross. These smaller diamonds are cross-cut.
The base of the bowl is thickened and merges with the solid, tapering stem. There is a globular attachment at the junction of the stem and the star cut foot. The latter is marked with the crown logo surrounded by the words ‘ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 15.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.8cm and across the foot of about 5.9cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 130ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 340g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
