This is a nice example of a large retro ceramic vase produced by Scheurich Keramik in West Germany.
The vase has a ridge along the edge of the tapering rim. There is a short, waisted neck above a shoulder and an elongated, cylindrical body.
The base is slightly domed and moulded with the number ‘517-30’ and the words ‘W. GERMANY’.
The interior of the vase is glazed in a dark glossy brown. This extends out onto the rim and upper part of the vase. This merges with a central white band, followed by more brown and then a deep forest green shade. This also extends down onto the underside of the base.
It has a height of approximately 30.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.5cm and across the base of about 12.4cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 1180g.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although the gloss sections of the glaze have some minor crazing.
