This is a set of four high-quality, cut lead crystal sherry or port glasses produced by the Harbridge Crystal Glass Company and probably dating to the 1930s.
The trumpet-shaped bowl is made from thick lead crystal and is cut with four large crosses, the upper limbs of which are surmounted by a five-pointed fan. The diamond-shaped panel formed between adjacent crosses contains a further cross-cut with elongated lower limbs that bisect the limbs of the larger crosses. This creates a row of small cross-cuts around the base of the bowl.
The bowl merges with the solid, tapering stem. This is cut with four columns of five lenticular notches that diminish in size as they approach the foot. The latter is star cut in the centre and marked at the edge with the word ‘HARBRIDGE’ in inverted commas. One glass is also marked with the word ‘ENGLAND’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 13.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.6cm and across the foot of about 5.7cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 100ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 610g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
