This is a superb quality, full-lead crystal flower vase produced by Whitefriars Glass in the 1970s.
The vase is made from thick lead crystal, with a narrow aperture at the top, widening out gradually towards the solid, thickened base.
The vase is cut around the base with four pairs of facets with arched tops. Surmounting each pair of facets is a large lens cut, which is topped with an elongated vertical wedge cut that extends to the rim. Between adjacent lens cuts is a further vertical wedge cut that also extends to the rim.
The base is polished flat and unmarked.
This piece has the pattern number C585 and can be seen on page 10 of the 1978 Whitefriars catalogue.
It has a height of approximately 19.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 2.7cm and a width across the base of about 3.5cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 650g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
