This is a charming example of a bone china mug from the ‘Bunnykins’ range produced by Royal Doulton and dating to the late 1980s.
The mug is broadly cylindrical with a slightly everted rim. It has a plain, strap-like handle attached just below the rim.
It is glazed in a pale cream-yellow shade, over which has been transfer-printed a band of leaping bunnies below the rim. Below this is an image depicting a group of bunnies gathered around a seated bunny with a bunch of flowers. On the other side is a smaller image showing a pair of bunnies picking flowers.
The underside is marked in the centre with the Royal Doulton logo being carried by a group of rabbits. Below this are the words ‘ENGLISH FINE BONE CHINA “BUNNYKINS” ® © 1988 ROYAL DOULTON’.
In addition, the mug comes in the original box, although this is worn around the edges and has a small tear on the rear.
The mug has a height of approximately 7.6cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 9.0cm and across the base of about 6.6cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 275ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 230g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although as previously mentioned the box is worn.
