This is a nice example of a large bowl from the less-common ‘Gold Spray’ range, designed by Peter Tysoe for Chance Glass and introduced in 1970.
The bowl is like a rounded square, tapering in towards the base.
The rim is gilded, and it is printed with yellow dotted sprays on the underside and orange sprays on the interior. It is said to resemble a firework.
The bowl has a height of approximately 5.2cm and a width across the rim of about 22.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 350g.
It is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some rubbing to the gilded rim, and some minor scratches to the base commensurate with age and use.
