This is a stunning example of a glass fruit bowl-on-stand or footed bowl, maker unknown but dating to the last quarter of the 19th century.
The upper portion is hemispherical, with a smooth interior. The bowl sits on a discoid collar which surmounts a tapering stem and foot. The latter is hollow.
The thick glass has a textured, cracked appearance on the exterior. This is known as ‘Crackle Glass‘.
It has a height of approximately 17.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 23.3cm and across the base of about 15.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 1490g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few minor scratches to the interior commensurate with use.
