This is a stunning example of an early 19th-century champagne glass dating to between 1800 and 1810.
The elongated conical-shaped tapers in to meet a broad discoid collar. This surmounts a double capstan stem. The plain foot has a central rough pontil.
It is made from very high-quality lead crystal.
It has a height of approximately 16.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.0cm and across the foot of about 6.8cm.
The glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 125ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 155g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is a small enclosed piece of frit in the bowl, as well as a few striations within the glass. There are also some fine wear and tear scratches to the bowl and underside of the foot commensurate with the age of the piece.
