This is a charming example of a glass light shade in classic Art Deco style.
The shade has a round aperture at the top which has a ground edge. The body is moulded with eight panels that have been twisted to give it an angular finish. The base of each panel is moulded with a stylised fan motif. The lower opening also has a ground edge.
The whole has been made from marbled or ‘splatter’ glass, with various pastel shades including white, yellow, blue and pink.
It has a maximum height of approximately 14.6cm, with a diameter across the top aperture of about 3.0cm and across the base of about 9.8cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 300g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although is grinding at the opening is quite crude.
