This is a striking example of a rectangular serving platter from the ‘Grantleigh’ design produced by Chance Glass.
The plate is rectangular with rounded corners. The rim is gilded. It is printed with a bold pattern reminiscent of Japanese ‘Imari’ designs and colours.
‘Grantleigh’ was the last pictorial design to be produced by Chance Glass and was issued in 1980. It was not hugely popular when it came out and therefore the production run was short.
It has a height of 1.5cm, a length of approximately 34.0cm and a width of 16.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 390g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is minor wear to the gilded at the rim.
