This is a nice example of a classic Whitefriars design.
The bud vase has a cylindrical upper section that tapers into a low ball-knop. There is a short stem, which merges imperceptibly with the conical foot. The whole piece is made from ruby glass.
This piece has the pattern number 9485 and can be found on page 6 of the 1964 Whitefriars catalogue.
It has a height of approximately 26.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 3.0cm and across the foot of about 7.2cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 160g.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some faint marks on the interior of the vase commensurate with use.
