This is a pair of high-quality lead crystal small wine glasses from the ‘Lismore Essence’ range produced by Waterford Crystal.
The small, balloon-shaped bowl is cut in the lower half with a band of eight large crosses, the upper and lower limbs of which come into close approximation. Above the centre of each cross and where adjacent crosses meet is a vertical mitre cut. Within the panel formed between adjacent large crosses is a further small cross with elongated lower limbs, which bisect the lower limbs of the larger crosses.
The bowl sits on a plain, straight stem and a plain, flat foot. The latter is marked at the edge with the word ‘WATERFORD’.
These glasses are no longer produced by Waterford Crystal but are still available to buy new from Ajka Crystal, who had been producing the crystal on behalf of the Waterford Group in its later years. At the time of writing, the new glasses are priced at £104 each.
Each glass has a height of approximately 14.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.4cm and across the foot of about 6.5cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 200ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 330g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
