This is a charming example of a crystal sculpture, designed by Mats Jonasson for his ‘Signature Collection’ under Målerås Glasbruk.
The sculpture is made from 28% PbO (lead oxide) which makes it a very high-quality lead crystal.
It is designed to look like a block of ice and the back is moulded with a seal pup. The original moulds for these pieces have been designed by Mats Jonasson before being hand cast.
The base is polished flat and engraved by hand with ‘MATS JONASSON SWEDEN 7150’.
In addition, the piece bears the original black and gold sticker, which reads ‘MATS JONASSON SIGNATURE COLLECTION HANDMADE IN SWEDEN LEAD CRYSTAL 28% PbO’.
It has a height of approximately 8.8cm, with a maximum width of 13.5cm and a maximum depth of 4.7cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 580g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
