This is a set of six high-quality cut lead crystal sherry glasses from the ‘Imperial’ suite by Stuart Crystal.
The bowl is approximately barrel-shaped with a thickened base. The centre is cut with a continuous panel of two rows of interlocking crosses, bordered above and below by a pair of circumferential mitre cuts. Above this are five sets of two pairs of curved leaf cuts. The lower part of the bowl is cut with a stylised foliage design.
The short stem has a central ball knop. The foot is plain and marked in the centre with the words ‘STUART CRYSTAL’. This mark was in use from around 1950.
Each glass has a height of approximately 10.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.4cm and across the foot of about 5.5cm. There are some minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 80ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 780g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
