This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal port glasses from the ‘Glengarry’ suite produced by Stuart Crystal.
The bucket-shaped bowl has a thickened base and is cut around the centre with a band of five large crosses. Above the centre of each cross is a vertical mitre cut. Within the diamond-shaped panels formed between adjacent large crosses is a lattice formed from two pairs of parallel lines.
The stem is of short baluster form. The foot is plain and marked in the centre with the words ‘STUART ENGLAND’. This particular version of the mark was introduced in 1950.
Each glass has a height of approximately 9.9cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.1cm and across the foot of about 5.4cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 70ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 240g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
