Small Whitefriars Ruby Sparrow Beak Jug No. 9419
This is a nice example of a classic Whitefriars design.
This is a nice example of a classic Whitefriars design.
The jug has a rounded wrythen body, which tapers in to an angulated rim. The pouring spout is elongated. The flint handle is ‘celery stalk’ in form, arising from a wide attachment opposite the pouring spout and narrowing to a crimped lower attachment just above the base. The latter has a central polished out pontil.
This piece has the pattern number 9419 and appears on page 7 of the 1957 Whitefriars catalogue.
It has a height to the spout of about 12.9cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
