Stuart Crystal ‘Glengarry’ Design Brandy Glass

This is a high quality cut lead crystal brandy glass in the Glengarry design by Stuart Crystal. The balloon shaped bowl is cut in its lower part with a ring of eleven large criss-crosses, the upper and lower arms of which come into close approximation. The diamond shaped panel thus formed contains a lattice consisting of four interlocking small criss-crosses. Within the upper ‘arms’ of each of the large criss-crosses is a vertical wedge cut. There is a small collar at the junction of the bowl and stem. The foot is plain and unmarked. This particular pattern of cutting is common to both ‘Glengarry’ and ‘Canterbury’ suites by Stuart Crystal. The glass has a height of approximately 12.8cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 6.0cm and at the foot of about 7.2cm. It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
