Royal Albert ‘Paragon’ Design Cup and Saucer Set

This is a highly attractive bone china cup and saucer set from the ‘Paragon’ suite by Royal Albert. The cup is approximately cylindrical with a slightly everted rim. It has a curved base and sits on a tapered discoid base. The body of the cup is vertically ribbed and decorated below the rim with a band of green and a complex design of gold arches, dots and circles. The rim, edge of the handle and base are all gilded. The saucer echoes the design shown on the cup. The cup is marked with the words BY APPOINTMENT TO H.M. THE QUEEN CHINA POTTERS PARAGON CHINA LTD. STOKE-ON-TRENT FINE BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND REG D L/L KENSINGTON’. The cup has a height of approximately 6.9cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 7.7cm and across the base of about 4.6cm. The saucer has a diameter of about 14.2cm. They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
