This is a pair of high-quality, full lead crystal small wine glasses from the ‘Leander’ suite produced by Bridge Crystal.
The bucket-shaped bowl has a thickened base and is cut in its lower half with a series of six large crosses, the upper and lower arms of which come into close approximation. Within the diamond-shaped panel thus formed is a lattice of four interlocking criss-crosses. The upper arms of each large cross contain a five-pointed fan.
The stem tapers in to meet a high ball knop; the remainder is cylindrical. The foot is star cut and marked at the edge with the word ‘BRIDGE’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 12.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.2cm and across the foot of about 5.6cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 115ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 420g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd wear and tear scratch to the bowls and feet commensurate with use.
