This is a pair of stylish, large lead crystal wine glasses designed to echo 19th-century fashions, but likely dating to the second half of the 20th century.
The capacious bowl is round and crudely engraved below the rim with a broad matte band, which is surmounted by a ring of horizontal oval engravings. These are bordered above and below by a fine circumferential line. The rim of the bowl is ground flat, with slightly bevelled edges and a matte finish.
The bowl is drawn into the plain, straight stem. The stem then merges with the plain, flat foot. The latter is slightly domed in the centre.
Each glass has a height of approximately 15.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.0cm and across the foot of about 8.0cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 340ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 320g.
They are in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a number of wear and tear scratches to the bowls and feet commensurate with age and use. This wear is reflected in the price.
